Pastry Under False Pretenses

Yesterday morning I enjoyed a very substantial Blueberry fritter, jelly donut. Dave had purchased it for me while he was out running errands in the morning.

Perhaps the pastry chefs have a personal vendetta for yours truly, therefore making it possible for my husband to obtain the jam filled sweets unscathed. Of course his identity will probably not remain under the radar for long. There are just too many donut shops with a large employee loyalty. One of them will undoubtedly see us together in a matter of time. I am afraid my husband will be blacklisted by association, no longer making it possible to gain my jelly satisfaction under the false pretenses of another identity. Unless there are volunteers out there, willing to risk exile from the filled variety?

In the meantime ... I have become partial to the sprinkle donuts. What you see is what you get.

Erin Brown: College Graduate

After 8 years, many phone calls, much frustration with the school, a lot of money and a student loan ... I have officially graduated from Canadian Bible College, re-named Alliance University College, now Ambrose University College.

I officially have a Diploma Associate of Ministry ( a two year degree for which I took over 3 1/2 years of classes for and an internship I didn't need). It's a little disappointing that I wasn't able to finish my Bachelor's, but I figured it was more beneficial to graduate with a lesser degree than drop out altogether with nothing. Hey ... and if I never took that internship, we definitely wouldn't be in Grande Prairie right now.

I haven't received my diploma yet, but I figure it's official since my name is posted with the rest of the grads on the AUC website (click on this link to see). Maybe once I receive that valuable piece of paper, I'll take a picture of it and post it here on my blog. Hopefully they've mailed it to me. You never know... they did lose my student file for a while!

Disneyland Pictures - Part 1

As promised, here are some of our Disneyland pictures. Like I said in our last post, I forgot the battery charger for our digital camera, so this is only half of our pictures. The other half are on a disposable camera, waiting to be developed. Enjoy and I hope to get the rest of our memories posted soon.

P.S. I realize I spelt shrubbery wrong in the slide show, but it really is a pain to go back and change it.

We're Back

Just letting everyone know that we got back to Grande Prairie late last night. Kris & Mel picked us up from the airport and filled us in on a few of the details we missed during our week away. It will be nice to see friends again and play catch up.

Oh ... and of course Disneyland was GREAT! The weather was perfect everyday, Dave let Erin drag him on almost every ride (which he loved) and Erin got to go swimming OUTSIDE. We also got to catch an Angels game and have dinner with Erin's friend Shannon and her husband Jon.

Hopefully I'll get some pictures posted soon. I (Erin) forgot to pack our battery charger for the digital camera, so half of our photos are digital and the other half went on to a disposable camera we bought once the battery ran low. Besides pictures we also brought back a few souvenirs but NO palm tree (which made Erin sad). I guess that's okay though, it wouldn't have survived in northern Alberta anyway.

Definitely the best trip ever!
