So Cute!

On Tuesday night our friends Steve & Kim celebrated the arrival of their second child, Spencer David. Dave & I, along with our friends Kris and Rachael went to the hospital yesterday to see the newest addition to our Caregroup. We also got to meet two other very new church members who were born within the same 48 hours. Not that any of them were really awake to meet us back. We all agreed that Spencer was very cute.

While Spencer was coming into the world Dave & I were watching his big sister, Rory. She's equally as cute so here's a picture as well, eating her dinner. Rory was also at the hospital during our visit. However, she seemed more interested in running up and down the hallways than making a fuss about her new sibling.

Finally to answer all of your questions ... no, we're not pregnant.

IT'S HERE!!

Just wanted everyone to know that my passport is now in my hands. Dave and I went home for lunch today when the doorbell rang. There was the mail lady with the express envelope in her hands. I think Dave may have squealed with glee, but I'm not sure because of all the excitement that was going on. One thing is for sure ... we are very happy and very relieved!

So this means we are now officially, and certainly going to Disneyland May 7th! Only 13 more days to go!!!

My Life These Days

I don't seem to be getting much done at work these days ... I blame it on the government.

It seems my afternoon routine, as of late, is to sit on hold with Passport Canada waiting for the opportunity to enquire about what exactly has happened to my passport application. Every agent tells me something different. I tend to be more trusting of the operators who are not rude and treat me like a human being (and can actually speak fluent English). This afternoon I called twice because I was sure the person "helping" me on the other end of the phone the first time was almost as confused as I was. I was right, the woman I got the second time actually had comprehensible information.

So as far as I know, my passport is in the final stage of production in Edmonton (its being printed) and SHOULD be shipped to me, in Grande Prairie, by Canada Post next week. However, she did tell me if I hadn't seen it by the first to call back and give them my file number and remind them of the date of my trip. I'm keeping all of my fingers and my toes crossed. It took 2 weeks of calling and many hours on hold to figure this out.

If you want to see how messed up the passport application process is right now you can visit this forum site called http://www.passportcanadasucks.com. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to when you do or when you don't get your passport these days.

I wonder if Mickey Mouse will appreciate everything I've gone through just to meet him?

Ahhhhh . . . I feel better now!

Less Than A Month To Go!

If you've been checking our blog regularly you will have noticed our new Disneyland countdown timer. Its hard to believe that after 6 years of dreaming, the big event is almost here! A couple of weeks ago we received our park hopper tickets. Now all that's left to finalize is my passport.

After many phone calls to Passport Canada, my application should be on its way to Edmonton to guarantee its arrival before our trip. That means we'll have to travel to Edmonton to pick it up, but it should be ready. Of course the national office also told me that the Edmonton office would be contacting me last Thursday afternoon or this past Tuesday ... this did not happen. So we continue to wait on hold with Passport Canada and pray.

(Oh by the way the music you hear while on hold makes me think of a medieval fair.)

Was Blind But Now I See ...

Here is David Brown modeling the latest in fashion eyewear from Esprit. The half-framed lenses say "subtle" while the chunky arms make a bold yet modernly retro statement. David says he likes them because he no longer has to ask his wife to read the clock across the room. Not only are the glasses a fashion statement, but practical as well.

Happy Easter

I know its not quite Easter yet ... but since we don't have internet at home and this is my last day in the office before the holiday... its my last chance to wish all our friends and family a Happy Easter.

Oh, and here's a little holiday humour for you :)
