Beautiful

Sunday night Dave called me from the cell phone to tell me: 1) it was raining and I probably needed to shut some windows and 2) there was a gorgeous double rainbow outside. I tried to capture it on my camera but its expanse was so huge I had to take pictures from both the front and back yards to even get most of it. As I stood outside in the misting rain it reminded me of home and Niagara Falls.

Cole At 4 Months

Cole is now 4 months old! He can now hold his head up on his own, makes cute talking sounds, and he can now grab toys and of course put them straight in his mouth. Cole has his 4 month vaccinations at the Health Unit on Monday, so they will measure and weigh him then to see how much he's grown. Obviously we can tell without a scale that he's grown quite a bit!

This is myself and my cousin Patti. Our sons Cole and Andrew are less than 3 months apart. They are the first great grandchildren for my Granny & Grampa Horning. A great opportunity for a photo opt. if I've ever heard of one!

Still Plagued By Conspiracy

I know over the past year our blog has been pretty much all "baby" talk but life has continued on in many other facets.

While I was pregnant I steered almost clear of donuts. (I know its hard to believe a pregnant woman could have such will power but one cannot be too careful when it comes to her unborn child.) I do not believe I had one jelly donut during the whole 9 months. My faith in the jelly donut industry had been forever shaken.

Now that our little guy is here I have once again felt safe to take "risks" on my own behalf (at least of the jelly persuasion).

The other week my wonderful hubby brought home (my mom's home in ON that is) a half dozen of the most infamous of Ontario donuts ... those from Tim Horton's. He informed me that he had specifically requested a jelly donut especially for me and that the server behind the counter informed him that it was raspberry filled. My excitement was heightened, my mouth was salivating. I bit into the powdery morsel to reveal .... LEMON filling!! Blueberry, or strawberry I could handle, but lemon was highly disappointing. Foiled once again by the Mecca of all Ontario donut shops!

I beginning to contemplate lobbying for a donut return policy ...
